Men’s and boys’ issues

The British political party Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them) outlined in its last general election manifesto explored 20 areas where the human rights of men and boys (and sometimes girls) are assaulted by the actions and inactions of the state, almost always to privilege women and girls. Girls, including unborn girls, are – in common with boys – affected by the issues in bold text:

  1. Abortion
  2. Foetal Alcohol Effects/Syndrome
  3. Male Genital Mutilation
  4. Fatherlessness
  5. Educational Failure
  6. Workplace Disenfranchisement
  7. Reproductive Rights
  8. Parental Alienation
  9. Domestic Violence
  10. Sexual Abuse
  11. Armed Forces Veterans’ Health Issues
  12. Homelessness
  13. Suicide
  14. Criminal Justice Discrimination
  15. Paternity Fraud
  16. Anonymity for Suspected Sexual Offenders
  17. False Allegations
  18. Healthcare Discrimination
  19. Lack of Political Representation
  20. Family Court Bias/Corruption

Today we would add at least four more:

  1. Workplace discrimination
  2. Conscription
  3. Brain injury from compulsory contact sports
  4. Denial of speaking platforms
